Page 2 Routing Table and RAM

Telnet Page 2 displays the status of the routing table and RAM usage every 1 second.

Key

AA.AA.AA.AA The Network number of the route in dotted decimal format. Network Number 0.0.0.0 is the default gateway to which all traffic not assigned to other routes is sent.

BB.BB.BB.BB The Network Mask of the route in dotted decimal format. The address range of the route is calculated by a bitwise AND of this address and the Network number. A Network Mask of 0.0.0.0 is used by the default route to which all traffic not assigned to any other route is sent.

CC.CC.CC.CC Is the IP address (in dotted decimal format) of the Next Hop or gateway router for the route as follows:.

For all gateways this is the IP address of the next hop router and may be either local or remote depending on the value of NT.
For definitions of the local LAN environment this entry is not used and by convention and to avoid confusion it is set the IP address of “this Router”.

Route Type (RT) may take one of the following values:

1 – Ethernet LAN (local)
5 - ISDN BRI remote Route.

EE Route Flags (RF) is a bit significant field as follows

Bit 7 (x’80) = NAT route
Bit 6 (x’40) = Multi-cast active on route.

FF Route Metric (RM)

0 = LAN
1 = ISDN connections.

GG Profile/Interface (PI) is used depending on the Net Type (RT) above

if NT = 1 (LAN) this value defines the interface index
If NT = 5 (ISDN BRI) this value defines the Profile Number describing the connection

Pools

For each memory pool three counts are kept. The number of currently free resources (“Free”), the number of currently in use resources (“Use”) and the Maximum number of the resources ever used at any one time (“Max”)

The following are the buffer types used by the system:

MM the pool of Single Byte Command (SBC) buffers
NN the pool of Header buffers
OO the pool of Small buffers
PP the pool of Large buffers

RR the pool of CCB buffers
SS System usage
TT the pool of DLCB buffers

Limits:

C1 Starting address (in hex) of the dynamic RAM buffer pool
C2 Total number of bytes allocated for dynamic RAM buffers when system was initialized
C3 Total of bytes available for dynamic buffering (calculated value)
C4 Total RAM that can be allocated for SCATGAT memory usage
C5 System limit of RAM in use when system goes into AMBER state
C6 System limit of RAM in use when system goes into RED state

Current

D1 Total number of bytes currently in use (includes SCATGAT usage).
D2 Maximum number of bytes that have ever been in used at any one time since the system was loaded.
D3 Total bytes currently free.
D4> Largest contiguous memory block that may be allocated.
D5 Number of available blocks (provides a measure of fragmentation).

Scatgat

E1 the total number of bytes currently in use by the scatgat memory allocation system.
E2 Maximum number of bytes that have ever been used by scatgat memory system since the system was loaded.

Errors

F1 Total number of times the SCATGAT system failed to allocate a buffer successfully.
F2 Total number of times the SCATGAT system failed to free a buffer successfully.
F3 Total number of times the SCATGAT system failed to allocate RAM due to exceeding the Threshold Limit (C4).
F4 Total number of times the memory system failed to find enough RAM for the request (includes no RAM).
F5 Number of times a zero RAM block was freed.

Status

G1 The state of the memory system (1 = GREEN, 2 = AMBER, 3 = RED)
G2 The number of times the system has gone into an AMBER State
G3 The number of times the system ahs gone into a RED State.
G4 The total number of times the system was in a crisis state due to memory shortage or queue overflows.

MIB and Clock

The clock values below are only valid if the time service is being used.

H1 The number of MIB writes (all instances) outstanding.
H2 The time in minutes from midnight local time (if a time service is active else time in minutes since the system started).
H3 The day number (Sunday = 1, Monday = 2 etc.)
