The following pages show a sample web page design for SKM. This work features the designs of Julia Waks a professional graphic artist which were intended to develop and expand on a currently functional web site. While all the pages are based on a new web site section they illustrate a general theme of color and navigation control that would be used consistently throughout the updated site.
The pages are all static - use the 'back' button to return to this menu page.
| Section navigation | This page illustrates a typical (but complicated) section introduction. The page contains the following permanent features:
This page specifically illustrates the problems associated with - and a proposed solution for - multiple levels of sub-navigation. The page would typically be preceeded by one or more introductory pages describing this specific action. A simple numbered title would be provided under all sections (text not shown). The clickable item would be both the item itself and the numbered bar. This keeps each page as short as possible and allows the user to navigate quickly. |
| Page selection | Selecting a page would display the original title together with a short summary or comment (the objective being to keep all navigation visible without using the scroll bar. The actual document would then be made available in a number of proposed methods:
The user may continue at any time to jump around the documents or sections by using the displayed navigation bars. |
| Colour | This page maintains the same icons and design themes but illustrates the use of colour to emphasize the different specialisations within the company. |
| Contrast | This page maintains the same icons and design themes but uses a much lighter colour set as a visual contrast. |
